Not Sure Where to Begin?
That is okay. You do not have to have everything figured out before you reach out.
Whether you have questions about visiting, following Jesus, baptism, membership, Sunday School, children's ministry, serving, or prayer, we would be glad to talk with you.
What to Expect
Children & Families
We love families and want to come alongside parents in the discipleship of the next generation.
Children are welcome at Altamahaw. We want parents to feel confident that their children are safe, loved, and taught the Bible. Our children's ministry exists not merely to provide childcare, but to support families as they teach their children to know and follow Jesus.
If you are visiting with children, someone will be glad to help you find the nursery, children's areas, or Sunday School classes.
Sunday School
Sunday School is one of the best ways to get connected at Altamahaw.
In Sunday School, we study Scripture, build relationships, ask questions, pray together, and encourage one another in the Christian life. If you are new, visiting a Sunday School class can be a simple and meaningful way to begin knowing others and being known.
If you are not sure where to go, just ask when you arrive. We would be glad to help you find a class.
Expository Preaching
The Bible is God’s Word, and it speaks with grace, truth, and authority for our lives today.
By and large, our sermons usually walk through books or large sections of Scripture in a verse-by-verse fashion, helping us understand the meaning of the text, seeing how it points us to Christ, and considering how God’s Word shapes our faith, worship, families, and everyday lives.
Whether you are new to the Bible or have studied it for years, our desire is for the preaching to be clear, faithful, and helpful as we grow together in Christ.
Led by experienced volunteers who know how to hold space, encourage participation, and keep things moving with purpose.
Youth Ministry
Music
Our music is rooted in the rich tradition of congregational singing. We sing familiar hymns and songs of the faith that help the church worship Christ, remember the truths of Scripture, and join our voices together as one church family.
Our desire is for the music to be clear, reverent, sincere, and easy for the congregation to sing. Whether you have known these songs for years or are hearing them for the first time, we hope the music helps you worship the Lord and reflect on His goodness.
